Looking back a few weeks to half term and seeing as there are three terms, that made us just past halfway through the year, not that we're counting.
Our focus is often on boarding and choir, but of course there is much more to a chorister's life, and at the end of last half-term we received Tom's school report.
I'm sure Tom's not unusual in that choir and boarding affect his school work (lest we forget, he is at SCHOOL). The complexities of timetable and the 20-odd hours of singing each and every week take the toll especially in the early days. Plus we're often dependent on others to supervise his prep.
We are so hugely proud therefore, as the averages of his last 3 reports are all going up. Where once were Cs are now Bs and there is more than a smattering of As. Tom's clearly applying himself in all the right directions. OK, he's no genius but his hard work is paying off.
His maths is a bit sticky (I'm afraid his parents are not role models but grand parents are showing promise), history is a real high point, closely followed by english and his music (meaning piano, cello and theory) are really coming along.
